Mill manager - T M Hesketh's Albert Mill, working there for over 30 years.

As a young boy he lived in Astley Bridge and came to live in Horwich in about 1900.

Represented North Ward from 1925.

Chairman of the Markets Committee and the Child Welfare Committee and was a member of the Joint Hospital Committee.

He was also a School Manager.

He was a well known footballer in his younger days, playing for Astley Bridge, Great Lever, Southport and Bury. He was a fast forward and his ability on the right wing earned him the nickname 'the Wizard.'

His hobbies were gardening and keeping poultry.
