Anglican Clergyman.

Vicar of St Matthew's, Little Lever.

Vicar of St Peter's Farnworth 1914-1922.

Elected to Farnworth Urban District Council in 1920 and after only 12 months was appointed Chairman.

Member of the Education Committee and Governor of Farnworth Grammar School.

He left Farnworth for Shropshire for the good of his health in 1922.

In Farnworth he had become a friend of Commander Gerard Holmes.

Commander Holmes taught at Prestolee School for some time when Teddy O'Neill was head teacher and wrote a book about him and the school called 'The Idiot Teacher'.

After a short time in Shropshire he joined Holmes - who was Headmaster of the Portishead Nautical School, Bristol - serving as Padre there until 1926.

He was finally appointed Rector of All Saints, Broseley, Shropshire, where he remained, relinquishing his post for health reasons in 1954.
