Mohammed Ayub

Came to live in Bolton in 1972 when he was 15 years old.

Worked in various textile mills, manufacturing, commerce and later in the transport sector and in local government.

Represented Great Lever Ward from 2006.

Served as Vice Chairman of the Planning Committee, Shadow Cabinet member for Highways & Transport, Audit, Corporate and Place Scrutiny Committee.

Governor of Bolton Islamic Girls School.

His wife, Zaibun Nisa, was Mayoress.
