Description

Do you provide post 16yrs accommodation, or are in the process of establishing 16+ accommodation?  Please have your say.

In March this year, the Government published new quality standards that providers of supported accommodation will need to meet. Under new regulations, providers will need to submit an application to register with Ofsted by 28th October 2023, after which it will be an offence to provide supported accommodation without a registration application accepted as complete. Ofsted will begin to inspections of supported accommodation in April 2024.

About the survey

Bolton Council is seeking feedback from 16+ years supported accommodation service providers, and those in the process of establishing post 16 accommodation, in the borough, ahead of the Ofsted regulatory changes this year.

Your response will help to inform our Housing and Looked After Children Sufficiency Strategies. It will also provide an overview of provider preparedness and awareness in this sector, as well as identify areas where support may be required.

Outcome

The findings from this survey have helped to improve our understanding of provider preparedness, ahead of the coming regulation to the market under Ofsted.  It has also helped to inform our approach around providing information and an appropriate level of support should it be required, as well as signposting to other resources.
