Description

Bolton Council are proposing to close Harvey Nursery and would like your views.

Situated within the Harvey Start Well Centre site on Shaw Street, Bolton BL3 6HU, Harvey's is the only nursery that is still run by Bolton Council and has been running at a loss for many years.

With the need to make budget savings of over £39 million, Bolton Council can no longer afford to heavily subsidise a service that only caters for a small number of children from one part of the borough.

There are a number of private nurseries in the area and we would offer support to make sure the move is as smooth as possible for any children transferring from Harvey Nursery.

Please note, the proposal to close Harvey Nursery does not affect the Start Well Centre.  The Start Well centre will remain open and continue to offer services to local children and families.
