Description

People aged 16 to 24 are being asked how they feel about testing for Covid-19, for a new survey.

Responses to the survey will give a vital insight into how younger people see the dangers of Covid-19 and the need to test, plus ask about the things that may put them off from taking regular tests.

The answers to these questions are important because although younger people are catching Covid-19, after the age of 16 the number of people taking tests when they have no symptoms drops off rapidly.

The survey is an opportunity for younger people to express their views on Covid-19 and let people working in public health know how they are feeling. For example, feedback from focus groups with Bolton Youth Voice have already raised important issues around mixed messages on Covid-19, the terminology used around the disease, lack of time to take tests and concerns about the impacts on friends, family and colleagues if people test positive.

The survey is focused on people aged 16 to 24 years and is completely anonymous. It is being carried out in partnership with Public Health England and runs until 31 August.
