Description

We are looking at the possibility of installing lockable alley gates to the locations listed below in order to reduce anti-social behaviour in the area.

Residents who live next to the proposed gated route would be given keys to allow them to open the gates. The Council and emergency services would also hold keys.

At the moment this is only a proposal, so as a local resident or other interested party, it's very important that you give us your views to help us decide whether to go ahead with this scheme or not.

Please note that alley gating is only ever used as a last resort, is subject to a set legal process, and funding is not always available. We have to be absolutely sure that gating is the most effective response to crime and anti-social behaviour before we consider installing gates.

If the proposal goes ahead there would be no charge for residents.
