Keeping yourself and others safe

Online safety

The internet has become a huge part of our everyday lives.  It enables us to access a wealth of information from the palm of our hands as well as managing many aspects of our lives, such as our shopping and banking.  It also allows us to make connections with people locally, nationally and globally.

Whilst the internet has many benefits, there are also many risks. Adults can be groomed, exploited or scammed online.  They can have their personal information or money stolen. Information can be shared via the internet that is not regulated and therefore may be harmful or untrue.  All adults can may experience online abuse, however adults may be at increased risk due to their age, vulnerabilities or other factors such as having a learning disability.

It is important to remain vigilant and stay safe online.
