Who we are
Our Borough wide team consists of Area Working Coordinators and, their main role is to discover individuals and groups who care about their community, help them connect to other likeminded individuals, groups and agencies so that, they can work together to find their local solution to their local issues and, mobilise themselves to deliver these solutions, through their local actions.
Our main focus
Our main focus is to enable the growth and strengthen these discoveries, connections, and delivery of these community led solutions through the creation of Community Alliances in each ward, working alongside active local community based voluntary groups, businesses, individuals, ward Councillors and, partner agencies who are all passionate about their area, and are keen to make a positive difference. Through this informal network, participants will work together, support one another to grow the good work in their communities, through their actions. This is to ultimately improve the quality of life of their residents and, their area. These participants can do this through using their interests, skills, knowledge and local community assets such as, buildings and spaces.
Additionally, your Area Working Coordinator supports the local ward Councillors in their role and, can also signpost you to appropriate services and partner agencies if you need some assistance. They may also be able to connect you to other local contacts that, could support you with your queries.
Growing The Good Work
The Growing the Good Work fund is used to make local investments into community projects within an individual Council ward or across a small number of neighbouring wards.
