Early library closure during ‘Put Big Light On Festival’ 16 - 22 November 2026
Please note that the Central Library and Museum building will close at 5pm on Monday 16, Tuesday 17, and Wednesday 18 November prior to the ‘Put Big Light On Festival’ opening on Thursday 19 November.
On Thursday 19, Friday 20, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November, the Library and Museum building will close at 4pm each day. The building will then reopen from 5pm until 9pm to allow visitors to view Luke Jerram's 'Helios', which will be on display in the main body of the library.
There will be no general library services or access to the museum available after 4pm.
Normal opening hours will resume from Monday 23 November.
