Where are Bolton Council's allotments located?

The map below shows the locations of Bolton's allotments.

Availability

Due to very high demand, all of our allotments have waiting lists. On completing and returning a waiting list application form for an allotment you will be added to the waiting list and you will be contacted when a plot becomes available for you.

How do I apply for an allotment?

To be eligible for an allotment you must be the minimum age of 18 years and reside in the borough of Bolton or within the 1 mile radius outside the borough.

You can only apply for an allotment by completing and returning a waiting list application form. You can obtain a form online from the download page or you can contact Neighbourhood Services and we will send you a form to complete and return.

What does it cost to rent an allotment?

The fee you pay to rent an allotment will depend on the size of the plot. There are various sizes available but an average full size plot is approximately 250m. A plot this size currently has an approximate annual rental charge £50.00.

Concessionary rates are available for the over sixties, currently this is a 25% discount on the rental charge of a plot. Proof of age may be required.

Rental charges are subject to periodic review and tenants are notified in advance of any changes to charges.
