Good news story - October 2023
Participant L joined the programme in April. He had been struggling to find work and was desperate to get back into the workforce.
His Restart Advisor worked with him to create a CV and cover letter, worked on his interview skills and how to best contact and sell his experience and skills to potential employers. The Participant attended the My Restart Journey session run at The Workshop and the Jobs Fair we held.
The team then focused everything on job searching and filling in applications. The hard work the Participant put in paid off and he became employed full time at a local manufacturing company. The Participant had worries around arriving at work in time as it was early starts so we provided him weekly bus passes and then purchased him a bike, lock and helmet which he has since stated is a ‘god send’.
The Participant has settled into work well, with extra shifts and overtime being offered from the employer.
