From September 2012, Year 11s in Bolton will be exploring what courses and qualifications they can take post-16 using the UCAS Progress website.  When they have made their decisions, they will make their applications online.

They will be helped to do this by their school.  There will be special lessons dedicated to helping Year 11s familiarise themselves with the website and how to complete the online application form.  Once they are registered they will also be able to use UCAS Progress at home, giving parents and carers an opportunity to have a look at the website.

Many schools also choose to showcase the area wide prospectus at Year 11 parents/carers evenings and events.

Any Year 11 who is not sure about what courses or qualifications to take to maximise their chances of succeeding in their career of choice should seek advice from their Connexions Personal Adviser, who is based in school.   The Connexions Personal Adviser is also often available for consultation at schools' parents/carers evenings and events.
