Bolton Council has a dedicated community safety team who work with partners to improve the quality of life for everyone in the borough. We are a member of the Be Safe Partnership which is made up of representatives from a number of different organisations all working together to reduce crime, disorder and drugs misuse in Bolton. The primary members are:

- Greater Manchester Police
- Greater Manchester Probation Service (Bolton)
- Greater Manchester Police Authority
- Bolton Primary Care Trust
- Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service
- Greater Manchester West Mental Health Trust
- HMP Forest Bank
Be Safe works across four key themes: Reducing Re-offending; Reassuring and Supporting Communities; Young People; and Drugs and Alcohol.
We aim to:
Reduce:
- House Burglary
- Vehicle Crime
- Robbery
- Violent Crime
- Domestic Violence
- Use of Class A Drugs
Target:
- Offenders who commit the most crime
Reassure and Support Communities by reducing:
- Anti-Social Behaviour
- Juvenile Nuisance
- Criminal Damage
- Hate Incidents (incidents motivated by hatred of ethnicity, religion, sexuality, gender etc)
- Environmental crime issues (eg graffiti, littering, fly-tipping etc).
