The Bolton Safety Advisory Group has advised that no form of organised event should take place on Remembrance Sunday as the Town Council cannot guarantee social distancing and the safety of members of the public, Councillors and staff.  Also events could not be supported from a public health perspective given the high number of infection rates in Bolton.

Therefore, the Town Council will not be proceeding with the Remembrance Day Parade, the Service at the Parish Church of St Bartholomew and the Service of Remembrance at the War Memorial.

However, Churches, Schools, Organisations and members of the public are encouraged to purchase Poppy Wreaths and lay them on the War Memorial at any time during the weekend.  Poppy Wreaths cost £25 and can be purchased by telephoning:  01942 513352 or 07814 383 556.
