At Bolton Museum you can visit our Bolton Lives Gallery, and take in some fantastic art. Explore Egyptology, the Wildlife on your Doorstep Gallery and or take a trip around the globe in our World Bays. Open since 1941, the Aquarium is the only one of its kind in Greater Manchester. It has stunning displays of freshwater fish from all over the world.

You can also trace your family tree or take your very own personal journey into the past in the History Centre.

Discover our historic halls - Hall i’ th’ Wood Museum, a Grade I, 16th century half-timbered hall, and Smithills Hall, which dates right back to the 14th century.
