Requests for traffic calming

Unfortunately in these challenging times we do not have the budget available to introduce remedial road safety improvements on roads and streets. This includes the introduction of traffic calming measures (e.g. speed humps, cushions and chicanes).

Although traffic calming features are used as self-enforcing measures within engineered road safety schemes, they are mainly used as a casualty reduction tool at high accident locations and not solely as a measure to enforce vehicle speeds. Speeding on the highway and other inappropriate driving practices are classed as traffic offences, which are issues that can only be enforced by the police.
