We are required to prepare, maintain and publish a register of brownfield (previously developed) land suitable for housing.

These registers are intended to provide up-to-date and consistent information on sites that local authorities consider to be appropriate for residential development. View the most recent  most recent register.

You can also view the sites, along with potential constraints and considerations,on the Greater Manchester Open Data Infrastructure website.

Brownfield land registers can also be used to grant permission in principle on suitable sites but no sites have been proposed for this in Bolton's register. Sites identified on the register do not have automatic permission in principle, nor is any permission granted other than through current planning procedures and policy.

For a fuller picture of Bolton’s housing land supply, including greenfield sites, please see the Authority Monitoring Report.
