The Central Library, Museum and Art Gallery are now open.
Members of the public must wear a face covering in all Library and Museum spaces.
To keep everyone safe, visitor numbers will be restricted. Visits will be limited to one hour and some games and interactive displays will remain off limits.
Hand sanitising stations will be available. A one-way system will aid social distancing while public toilets will be closed.
You will be asked to provide your contact details when entering to help with Test and Trace.
The Museum shop will be open - just ask a member of staff for help if you want to buy something.
Check back here and on our Facebook page for updates to our opening time and access to services.

Test and Trace Information
In line with the UK Government Test and Trace programme, we have been asked to collect personal data about anyone who is spending a prolonged period of time in our buildings.
If you are browsing at the Central Library, using our computing facilities or visiting the Museum, we will need to take some information from you.
This is voluntary and will include your name, contact number and date/time you arrived and left the library.
We will only keep your data for 21 days and then it will be securely destroyed.
Your data will always be kept securely and only be saved on the secure Bolton IT network.
For more information, see the relevant policies below:
Order and Collect
You can order and collect a bundle of up to 6 books which can be made up of themed categories or a mixed selection. You can now also reserve specific titles.
We will take your order and arrange for you to collect them from one of the following libraries: Central, Breightmet, Farnworth, Harwood, Horwich or Westhoughton.
Please call 01204 332853 or email email@example.com to order your bundle.
You can return all your books to these libraries as well.
Safety of staff and the public remain the top priority, strict hygiene and social distancing measures will be in place and closely monitored.
All fines have been removed for the period of time libraries have been closed and will continue until further notice.
The council will review our other service areas.
You can still access a wide range of eBooks, eAudio books and eMagazines and the Home Library Service will continue to deliver books.
Home Library Service
If you are vulnerable or shielding due to COVID-19 or would usually be unable to visit the library due to health or mobility issues, you can register for the Home Library Service.
Once you have joined the service, you will be asked to give an idea of what you like to read and our staff will choose books to match your preferences.
Ordinary print, large print and talking books can all be borrowed or requested. Staff will deliver up to six items and borrowers can keep hold of them for two weeks, after which we will pick them up.
For more information or to register with the service, telephone 01204 332853 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
