FamilyThe purpose of the Community Champions scheme is to support residents and communities to share the latest public health information and advice with their networks and communities. The focus initially will be around coronavirus and reducing the impact of the virus on individuals and communities but as we move towards recovery it will be around building resilient communities.

Community Champion Pledge

As a Community Champion, you are asked to sign up to this Pledge and code of conduct:

  • We give you the most up to date information from trusted sources and you share with your community
  • We share with you - you share with 10 people or more
  • Talk to your networks about the community champion role and encourage others to be champions

Code of conduct

  • You do not make political statements whilst working in your capacity as a Community Champion.
  • You do not debate the merits of the guidance, or criticise the government, council or partners – if somebody is incorrect, simply signpost to the correct information. This is to ensure that key messages are not undermined.
  • You do not apply your own interpretation of the guidelines  - if in doubt, ask for clarification.
  • We will never expect you to process (e.g. collect, record, share) in anyway any personal identifiable data.
