Online admissions to schools in Bolton for September 2012
This page is a guide to the admissions process for parents whose children will be eligible for admission in to the reception class in primary schools and those children transferring from primary to secondary school in 2012. Bolton online admission website will be open to Bolton residents from Tuesday 30 August 2011 for secondary admissions and from Monday 26 September 2011 for primary admissions. There will be a link from this page on those dates. Non Bolton residents must apply through the Authority in which they live.
To apply for a place online you must have received an application pack from the Local Authority which contains a unique indentifier (UID) allocated to your child.. This can be found on the admissions letter sent to you in the post. These letters will be posted out to parents/carers at some point during the following weeks:
- Admission to Primary Schools – Week beginning 26 September 2011
- Admission to Secondary Schools – Week beginning 22 August 2011

Week beginning 22 August 2011 – letters to parents containing unique identifier number
Friday 21 October 2011 – Closing date for applications
Thursday 1 March 2012 – National Offer Day

You must contact the Local Authority to register your child's details unless you have already done so. This will ensure you receive the details to apply online.
