Libraries - teenagers

Teenagers using their library

Books for teenagers

If you're over 14 years old, you automatically qualify for a Young Adult membership at Bolton Libraries.  This lets you take out books from the adult fiction and non-fiction sections which, let's face it, you're probably going to find useful when you've got homework and coursework to submit.

Each library has books specifically for teenagers.  We've got the big teen authors - Darren Shan, Malorie Blackman, Stephenie Meyer...

Groupthing

Groupthing is an online community dedicated to words and creativity.  Take a look, join in, and let us know what you think.

Homework

We've got lots of online resources you might find handy: Encyclopaedia Britannica, art and music dictionaries, and lots more.  You can also use the reference collection in the Central Library to find the information you're looking for.

Computers

You can use our computers for up to an hour for free every day.

Volunteering in libraries

We have  quite a few volunteering opportunities for teenagers.  Our Young Volunteers are active at the Central Library and some of the other libraries too.  Click on the Volunteering link for more information.
