Bolton Libraries provide a free book delivery service to housebound people and residential homes

Do you have difficulty getting to the library due to mobility problems? If so, we can help.

How does it work?

When you join you will be asked to give us an idea of what you like to read and whether you’d prefer standard, large print or recorded books.

What can I borrow?

We will deliver up to Six items and you keep them for Two weeks.  Deliveries take place throughout the year, except for Bank Holidays. 

Residential Homes

We can visit your residential home every eight weeks to deliver a selection of books for your residents to enjoy.

Who will deliver the books?

Your delivery will come by Home Library Service staff or by a regular Volunteer.
