National Youth Work week takes place at the start of November, and an event this week shows what Bolton has to offer.
On Wednesday (October 27), Victoria square will host the Celebrating Good Youth Work event from 12pm until 4pm, where the borough’s youth workers will get the opportunity to showcase all of the hard work they put in for Bolton’s young people.
There will be entertainment and activities for Bolton’s young people, as well as information on the range of services that the town’s youth workers provide.
All activities are free, including: sports and the chance to learning how to DJ in the town’s mobile boxes; and a climbing wall.
Information and advice will be on hand from the fire service, police, army, Connexions, Bolton Council of Mosques, YMCA and the teenage pregnancy unit.
Councillor Ebrahim Adia, Executive Member for Children’s Services at Bolton Council, said: “A day of events and activities showing all the great opportunities provided by the town’s youth workers is the perfect way for our young people to spend the day during half term.
I hope that as many people as possible turn up to have some fun, make the most of the advice and information, and help make the day a real success.”
