Work to resurface Green Lane, in Bolton starts this Sunday, April 11.
The scheme is part of the council’s £3m extra investment into improving the roads, following the severe winter weather.
The resurfacing is expected to take two weeks to complete and the major work has been timed to take place at the weekend to keep disruption to a minimum.
Green Lane will be closed to vehicle access at Bishops Road and Oakleigh Avenue from 8am to 6pm on Sunday, April 11 and Sunday, April 18. The road will be resurfaced during these times and the closures are necessary for safety reasons. Diversions will be sign posted.
The main traffic signals at the Bradford Road junction will be turned off and temporary traffic signals will be in place.
Motorists are asked to be patient and to contact the council’s helpline on 01204 336677 for further information.
