BBC Blast is coming to Victoria Square, Bolton, from 8 – 10 October.
Workshops on art and design, dance and drama, fashion, film, games, music and audio, and media and writing will be offered to young people from the age of 13 to 19.
Blast encourages young people to take part in cultural activities and decide if the creative industries might be the career path for them.
Some of the workshops taking place with spaces still available include: a VJ Workshop, where participants can mix images like a DJ mixes music; Create stop-motion animation and get tips from an expert animator; and record a news report and hear it broadcast on Blast’s own radio station.
As one of the Find Your Talent pilot areas, Bolton is an ideal location for Blast to meet some creative young people and find some stars of the future.
During the last week of September, the Blast truck will be in Bolton visiting schools and young people’s centres to raise awareness of the event and to encourage young people to sign up and take part.
Councillor Ebrahim Adia, Executive Member for Children’s Services, said: “These workshops will really help young people to discover hidden talents. Hopefully, a budding artist, music or television star is just waiting to be discovered in Bolton, and BBC Blast will help to find them.
“I would encourage any young person with an interest in any of the workshops to sign up and get involved.”
