Budding young chefs are invited to enter a competition to cook with celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo.
School pupils, from Bolton, aged seven to 16 are being asked to submit their best ideas for a pizza or pasta recipe with a local twist.
The competition has been organised by Bolton Council as part of its Food and Drink Festival, in August.
The council wants to get young people interested in cooking and is looking for an Italian recipe with a local flavour.
Councillor Akhtar Zaman, Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Environmental Services, said: “This is a fantastic prize for a young aspiring chef and we hope that lots of recipes will be submitted. We’re asking young people to use a local ingredient, which could be anything from Morecambe bay shrimp to black pudding, to celebrate the abundance of quality local produce we have on offer in the region.
“This is a great way to get young people excited about the festival, explore ingredients and get creative with their meals.”
Gino D’Acampo added: “I've been passionate about food and cooking since I was a young boy and I'm happy to support anything that encourages children to get interested in food. I think this is a great idea and I can't wait to meet the winner."
The winner will work alongside popular Italian chef Gino to cook the dish at a live cookery demonstration, in Victoria Square on Sunday August 29.
The young chef will also receive four tickets for family and friends to come along to cheer them on, plus a signed copy of Gino’s new cookery book.
The winning recipe will be chosen by Malcolm Veigas, the Assistant Director of Environmental Services. As a special bonus, the winner will have their dish cooked by Phil Ogden, the School Meals Training and Development Chef, at their school in the autumn term.
A runner up will get four tickets to watch Gino’s cookery demonstration and a signed copy of his book.
The competition closes Friday July 9 and the winners will be notified by Friday July 16. The winners must be available Sunday August 29. Entry forms can be found by clicking on the link on the right hand side.
The Bolton Food and Drink Festival will take place from August 27 to August 30, with guest appearances from chefs including Gino, the Hairy Bikers and James Martin.
A host of special events and offers have been organised in venues throughout Bolton.
