United Utilities are warning all customers in parts of BL1, BL2, BL6 and BL7 to boil water for drinking and food preparation.
Following the loss of water in parts of these postcodes routine monitoring by United Utilities has shown that drinking is not up to its usual quality. They are therefore asking that everyone in the following postcode sectors boil water for drinking and food preparation until advised otherwise. It does not matter whether you lost water or not. The advice to boil water applies to everyone in:
BL1 2, BL1 3, BL1 4, BL1 5, BL1 6, BL1 7, BL1 8, BL2 2, BL2 3, BL2 4, BL2 5, BL2 6, BL6 4, BL7 0, BL7 8 and BL7 9
Bottled water is also available between 8am and 8pm today (Thur 23 July) from Asda, Moss Bank Way, BL1 8QG.
They are also delivering information leaflets to every property in the affected postcodes.
