A busy town centre junction will be resurfaced this weekend (May 12 and 13).
Work to upgrade the traffic signals and install new pedestrian crossing facilities at the junction of Derby Street, University Way and Fletcher Street, started in April.
The scheme is being undertaken to improve traffic flows and pedestrian safety.
The junction now needs to be resurfaced and to ensure safety, road closures will be in place on Saturday and Sunday.
University Way will be closed between Derby Street and Deane Road, and Fletcher Street will be closed between Derby Street and Pilkington Street. The closures will be in place from 6am to 6pm and diversions will be signposted.
Residents and motorists are asked to be patient and to contact Bolton Council’s helpline on 01204 336600 for further information.
