Work to improve roads as part of Bolton Council’s on-going investment in the town centre continues next month.
The whole length of Knowsley Street, and Deansgate from its junction with Moor Lane to Knowsley Street, will be resurfaced.
Work will start overnight on Monday, November 7 and is expected to take two weeks subject to weather conditions.
The work is part of Bolton Council’s annual highways improvement programme to maintain roads. Bridge Street and a section of Deansgate were resurfaced earlier this month.
The roads will need to be closed for the resurfacing work but to keep disruption to a minimum and for work to take place safely, road closures will only be in place from 6.30pm to 7am each day.
Deansgate will be closed from its junction with Moor Lane, and the full length of Knowsley Street will be closed.
Pedestrian access will be maintained and diversion routes will be sign posted. Bus stops on Knowsley Street and Deansgate will be closed and services diverted to Bridge Street bus stops and Moor Lane bus station.
No road closures or disruption to bus services will occur during the hours of 7am to 6.30pm.
Businesses and motorists are asked to be patient while the work is underway. Contact Bolton Council’s helpline on 01204 336677 for further information.
