Residents are invited to vote for the winner of one of Bolton Council’s annual staff awards.
Nominations have closed for this year’s Bolton’s Best awards, which aim to recognise staff for the excellent work they do, and finalists have been selected by chief officers.
This year, members of the public were invited to nominate their social worker, bin collector, park ranger or any other council worker that makes a difference to their life or their community for the Best Contribution to the Community 2009 award.
Now, three finalists have been chosen and residents are able to vote online for the winner.
The finalists are:
Debra Entwistle and Amanda Bainbridge
Domestic Abuse Housing Services, Adult and Community Services
Technical Officer Hearing Loss, Adult and Community Services
Community Outreach Assistant, Adult and Community Services
Full details, including comments from the nominator, are available on the council website, see link above.
Councillor Rosa Kay, Executive Member for Human Resources, Organisational Development and Diversity, said: “The Bolton’s Best awards are a brilliant way of rewarding and celebrating the excellent work council staff do to help us deliver our objectives and achieve our vision to improve the quality of life for everyone in the Bolton family.
“We’ve had a huge number of nominations this year and I’m pleased to see some very deserving people and teams on the shortlist.
“The Best Contribution to the Community award is for staff whose work has made a real difference to the people of Bolton; so who better to decide the winner than the communities themselves!”
Voting closes on Friday 13 November and the winners of all eight awards will be announced at the Bolton’s Best awards ceremony on Thursday 3 December.
