Tickets for the celebrity chef demos and special events at Bolton Food and Drink Festival 2015 will go on sale this Saturday (May 23).
The festival, which is celebrating its 10th birthday this year, is organised by Bolton Council in association with Aldi.
It takes place from Friday, August 28 to Monday, August 31 and tickets will be available to buy from this Saturday, May 23 from Bolton Octagon Theatre, via www.boltonfoodanddrinkfestival.com or 01204 520661. The box office is open 9am to 7pm Monday to Saturday.
The festival will feature cookery demonstrations by actress and winner of Celebrity MasterChef 2010 Lisa Faulkner, Aussie chef John Torode and festival favourite James Martin together with shows from CBeebies star Katy Ashworth.
Tickets for the celebrity chefs demos cost £10 (premium) and £6 (standard seating).
Lisa Faulkner will be in the cookery theatre on Victoria Square on Saturday, August 29 at 11am and 1pm.
Organisers have also added new special events in honour of the festival’s 10th birthday. A Slattery afternoon tea, which includes a demo by Lisa, will take place at 3.30pm. Tickets are £18.
John Torode will take to the stage on Sunday, August 30 and James Martin will round off the festival on Monday, August 31, both with demos at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
From Friday, August 28 to Sunday, August 30, children’s favourite Katy Ashworth will be performing half hour live shows at 10.30am and 2.30pm, and a storytelling session at 12.30pm. Tickets cost £1.
In honour of the festival’s 10th birthday, Katy will host birthday cake decorating classes at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm on Monday, August 31. Tickets cost £1.50.
Meet and greets with Katy will also be held daily at 4pm – tickets are free but must be booked in advance.
The bumper-packed weekend will open on Friday, August 28 with two Michelin-starred chef Michael Caines, who will perform a free demo in the cookery marquee.
That evening Michael Caines will demonstrate his culinary skills further at a special Gala Dinner which will take place for the first time in the festival marquee in Victoria Square. Tickets cost £60, £5 of which will go to Bolton Hospice.
The Leader of Bolton Council, Councillor Cliff Morris, said: “There is always a feeling of real excitement when the tickets go on sale for the celebrity chef demos. And this year is even more special with it being our 10th birthday so we’re pulling all the stops out to make it a festival to remember.
“I would urge people to book their tickets as early as possible as they usually sell out fast.”
