Young people in Crompton are invited to a Fun Day being held to celebrate the re-opening of Cobden Community Centre on Charlotte St on Sunday 28 March between 1.30pm and 4.30pm.
The Fun Day has been organised by Crompton Neighbourhood Partnership, Bolton at Home, Bolton Council and Crompton UthReach, to celebrate the re-opening of Cobden Community Centre as a facility for young people and the wider community.
On the day, there will be a variety of activities taking place for people of all ages, including face painting, henna hand painting, a mini soccer arena and a climbing wall. There will also be workshops and taster sessions from Bolton Community and Voluntary Services (CVS) and Bolton Community College.
The refurbishment of Cobden Community Centre was funded by partners including Bolton Council and Bolton at Home. The re-opening of the centre means that activities for young people in Crompton can be held throughout the week, and the centre will also be available for local community groups to book events and activities.
Councillor Linda Thomas, Executive Member for Corporate Resources commented: “Local councillors, Bolton at Home and the Neighbourhood Partnership were determined to provide more activities for young people in the area and so decided to refurbish Cobden Community Centre, to provide a better range of facilities. We’d like to encourage everyone to come along and see what’s on offer now at the centre, as we’re confident there’s something for everyone.”
