Ladybridge Community Leisure Centre is to host a sponsored swim to help survivors of the Haiti earthquake.
The event, which is open to swimmers of all ages, will take place at the centre on Saturday, March 20 between 3pm and 4pm.
Money raised from the swim will go to Plan International, a children’s development organisation currently working in Haiti.
The event has been organised by Christine O’Reardon, whose husband Paddy is working for Plan helping to provide emergency relief to children and their families affected by the earthquake.
Plan’s immediate work is to provide food, water and hygiene materials to people in makeshift camps at Port-au-Prince and Jacmel.
Christine, of Farnworth, is a former swimming teacher at Ladybridge Leisure Centre and has organised the event with their support.
All participants will receive a certificate of achievement for taking part.
To enter, contact the centre on 01204 334432 or Christine on 01204 658531.
