Two giant stilt-walking footballers will entertain shoppers in Bolton on Saturday (April 10).
Two entertainers from Cirque Bijou who have performed for the Royal Family, will recreate magical moments from the beautiful game.
The show heralds the start of the next round of town centre events organised by Bolton Council to attract shoppers into town, following on from the success of acts held over the last year.
A host of new acts will feature in Victoria Square, including Icarus’ giant bouncing kangaroos and Bernie Bennet’s tightrope act.
There will be the return of some popular shows - Jason Maverick, who managed to perform high ball juggling with a broken hand, will be back. In addition to Jason, Balloonatic, the spectacular balloon performers, will be returning to Bolton for the fourth time.
Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Development and Regeneration, Councillor John Byrne, said: “There’s lots of great entertainment planned over the next few months, in the lead up to events like the Food and Drink Festival and the Ironman triathlon. We’ve had a lot of positive feedback from people who have watched the acts. We hope everyone enjoys the entertainment once again.”
The footballers will perform in and around Victoria Square on Saturday, April 10 at 12pm, 1pm and 2pm.
Streetwise Soccer is also holding sessions on the square on Saturday, and Virgin Media are hosting a free lightshow in the evening.
