A busy town centre junction is nearing completion but more work is required this Sunday, May 27.
Work to upgrade the traffic signals and install new pedestrian crossing facilities at the junction of Derby Street, University Way and Fletcher Street, started in April. The scheme is being undertaken to improve traffic flows and pedestrian safety.
Resurfacing work as part of the upgrade is now complete. In order to complete the traffic signal installation safely, road closures will be in place this Sunday.
University Way will be closed between Derby Street and Deane Road, and Fletcher Street will be closed between Derby Street and Pilkington Street. The closures will be in place from 6am to 6pm. Diversions will be signposted.
Residents and motorists are asked to be patient, and to contact Bolton Council’s helpline on 01204 336600 if they have any queries.
