Residents are invited to come along and bag a bargain at the Mayor’s Charity Christmas Fair.
On Saturday 30th November at 11am the Mayor will officially open the Christmas fair, which includes charity stalls, Christmas gifts, games and activities. Visitors can enter through the ceremonial entrance of the main Town Hall steps, for one of a few times a year.
At 12pm, Father Christmas will sit in his Winter Wonderland to listen to all the children’s special Christmas wishes. Each child will receive a gift from Santa and a professional photographer will be on hand to capture the moment.
Local mascots and charity characters will also be around to share the joy and there will be a competition to win a family ticket to the Albert Halls pantomime.
All monies raised will go to a variety of local charities including the Mayor’s Charity Appeal which this year is supporting Bolton Hospice, Bolton Lads and Girls Club, Bolton Society for Blind People and Fortalice.
The fair will run till 2pm and entry is free.
November 30 will also mark the start of the council’s entertainment programme over the festive season, which will include an ice rink, a giant wheel, a Santas grotto and street entertainment around the town centre.
