Bolton Council and its partners are reminding residents on the hunt for a new fridge or sofa before Christmas to visit The Square on Victoria Square, for goods at an affordable price and with low credit.
Residents with low credit scores who want to buy new furniture or white goods for the festive period can get into debt if they buy from high street stores which offer weekly payments for goods at high rates of interest.
However, Furniture4U, based at the Square, offers all residents across the borough access to furniture and white goods at an affordable price and with the option of low cost credit. There are also opportunities for people to access a range of money and debt advice.
As well as offering affordable loans to residents on goods, Hoot Credit Union also has its own section in the Square for its financial services. Anyone with a Hoot account can drop into the Square to make deposits, withdrawals or access their savings accounts.
Age UK also has a base in the Square, where residents are able to access information and advice on housing, pensions, will-making and legal issues. They are also able to purchase insurance for the over 50’s, including travel insurance, house insurance and other insurance policies.
Residents who want to contact the Square can ring 01204 368599.
