Our short breaks service for children with disabilities is officially 'outstanding', following a recent inspection.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspected the Bridges Family Support service last summer and have published the findings this week.
Overall they found the service, which is based at the Castle Hill Centre, to be 'outstanding' and in particular praised it for being well-led and safe.
As part of the inspection, service users and their families said they received fantastic support and staff were reliable and kind.
Cabinet Member for Education, Schools, Safeguarding and Looked After Children, Cllr Ann Cunliffe said: “Bridges Family Support offers short breaks to young people with a range of disabilities and provides invaluable support to the families who make use of this service.
"It is consistently highly rated by the CQC, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff involved. The fact that families feel safe and comfortable with leaving their loved ones in our care is particularly heart-warming and really means a lot to the Bridges team.
"I’d like to express my thanks to everyone who works in this service as this praise is very well deserved indeed.”
