The popular One Bolton 5k run and 2012m fun run will be returning to the Bolton Arena this year on Sunday, July 8.

The One Bolton 5k run has been organised by Bolton Council, in partnership with Bolton Wanderers’ Community Trust (BWCT), Active Synergy and Bolton Arena.

One Bolton is a community cohesion initiative which aims to bring together communities and individuals from across the borough to celebrate Bolton’s diversity and ensure the town continues to be a welcoming and tolerant place.

Building on the success of last year, organisers are looking for participants of all ages, all fitness levels and from all of Bolton’s diverse communities running side by side to showcase their commitment to One Bolton, raise money for local charities and have fun.

People can enter to run, jog or walk five kilometres or alternatively people can take part in a 2012 metre family fun run.

On the day, there will be entertainment for all the family including stalls and activities.
Leader of Bolton Council, Councillor Cliff Morris, said: "The One Bolton 5k Run is a sporting event aimed at bringing the community together and it will be a great day of fun for all the family. It was so popular last year that we’ve decided to hold it again and we’d like to encourage as many people as possible to take part in the race and raise money for their own causes, or to come down and enjoy all the activities.”
