Bolton is set to host a series of activities to celebrate National Family Week.
The week, from May 31 to June 6, is the UK’s biggest celebration of family life which aims to highlight the importance of quality time together.
Bolton Museum, Aquarium and Archive, together with Bolton Central Library, has organised a packed programme of events to tie in with the campaign’s main themes: film day, story time, road trips and sports day.
Throughout the week, families can take part in free quizzes for all ages and rent an extra DVD from all Bolton libraries when taking out any U, PG or 12 certificate title.
For the first time, Bolton Museum will be open to the public on Bank Holiday Monday (May 31) and storytelling sessions will take place at local libraries all week.
For the more active families, Bolton’s three mobile activity boxes will be at various venues throughout the borough, offering DJ-ing, football activities and climbing walls.
Other events include tours at Hall i’ th’ Wood Museum on Friday, May 28 and Saturday, May 29 between 1pm and 4pm and a craft fair at Smithills Hall on Monday, May 31 from 1pm to 4pm.
Plus there will be free play sessions at children’s centres and youth centres across Bolton.
