The final round of improvements to Moss Bank Way start this Sunday (June 26).
The work is part of a £2m road improvement scheme across Bolton to tackle the effect of the severe weather over the last two winters.
Chorley Old Road roundabout will be resurfaced over four consecutive Sundays (June 26, July 3, July 10 and July 17).
On each Sunday, Chorley Old Road between Old Kiln Lane (at its junction with the Bob Smithy Inn) and New Church Road will be closed to traffic in both directions except for local residential and business access.
In order to minimise disruption the road will reopen during the week.
On weekdays the section of Moss Bank Way between Old Kiln Lane and the Chorley Old Road roundabout will be resurfaced.
Moss Bank Way will be closed to traffic travelling northbound, from Old Kiln Lane to Chorley Old Road roundabout, on weekdays from June 27 to July 15.
Signed diversions will be in place for the duration of the scheme and access will be maintained for residents and businesses.
Bus service 501, 519, 125 and 126 will be affected. Please check with the bus operator for more details.
Residents and motorists are asked to be patient while the work is underway. Contact Bolton Council’s helpline on 01204 336677 for further information.
