The Mayor of Bolton will be leading Bolton’s VE Day service on Saturday (May 8) in Victoria Square.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton and veterans will process down the Town Hall steps to the Square. The VE Day service will then be conducted by the Vicar of Bolton Reverend Matt Thompson.
At 11am the Last Post will be played followed by a two minute silence, with maroons being fired at the start and end of the silence.
Councillor Norman Critchley, Mayor of Bolton said: “I am looking forward to leading the service and seeing all of Bolton represented. VE Day is an important date in the year's calendar as it gives us all a chance to commemorate the end of the war in Europe. I would encourage all Boltonians to show their support and come along to the event.”
