A madcap nun who has appeared on Britain’s Got Talent will entertain shoppers in Bolton town centre this Saturday (January 29).
Sister Ruth, who is played by Matthew Hunt, will have crowds in stitches with her comedy patter, dance moves and unusual renditions of popular songs.
The nun, on her magical mobile piano, appeared on the last series of Britain’s Got Talent and has performed at festivals and venues across Europe. She is also a regular feature at Alton Towers.
The Musical Ruth show will entertain the crowds in Victoria Square with 30-minute shows at noon, 1.15pm and 2.30pm.
This is the third of Bolton Council’s town centre events programme to attract shoppers into town.
Bolton Council’s Executive Member for Development and Regeneration, Councillor Ismail Ibrahim, said: “Shoppers in Bolton on Saturday are going to have a good laugh when they come across Sister Ruth. I’ve heard she’s very, very funny and I hope everyone enjoys the show!”
In the event of heavy rain, the shows will take place in the Market Place shopping centre.
