Bromley Cross Library will be closed to the public for three weeks due to refurbishment.
The library, in The Crescent, will close on Monday, October 12 and reopen on Thursday, November 5 while work is being carried out.
Improvements will include the installation of a new public toilet, children’s toilets and renovations to the roof.
There will also be replacement shelving and additional computers introduced, all in preparation for the library’s development into a children’s centre.
Once the library reopens, further work will be undertaken but should not affect visitors.
On completion, the centre will offer an out-of-hours library shelf service which will enable people to borrow books when the library is closed by operating a self-service system.
During the works, customers can use Harwood Library and no books will be due back at Bromley Cross during the closure period.
The council apologises for any inconvenience caused during the renovations.
