Work to improve the junction of Lostock Lane and Cranfield Road starts next week.
New traffic signals are being installed at the junction and a new entrance to the Persimmon Homes development will be created as part of the planning requirements for the new homes on the old BAE site.
Sections to both Lostock Lane and Cranfield Road will be resurfaced as part of the scheme.
The work is expected to take approximately 12 weeks to complete, dependent on weather conditions.
Temporary traffic signals will need to be used at times to enable the works to be carried out safely.
The work is funded by the developer. Local contractor A.E. Yates will aim to keep disruption to a minimum but residents and motorists are asked to be patient.
