A free jobs fair is taking place this Wednesday, October 14, to help people find work.
The event, organised by Bolton Council and Jobcentre Plus, will be held in the Festival Hall, at Bolton Town Hall from 10am to 3pm.
The fair will give job seekers the chance to find out about vacancies currently available from 23 local employers.
Young people can also get more information on upcoming apprenticeships and placements at Bolton Council, in areas including sports, health, business and administration. The opportunities have been created thanks to the Future Jobs Fund and Jobcentre Plus will be advertising the jobs in the next few months.
Bolton was awarded £2.5m in September from the Government to create jobs for 18 to 24 year-olds.
A total of 360 jobs will be made available under the initiative in Bolton in the coming months.
Training, careers and skills advice will also be available as well information about benefits.
Councillor John Byrne, Bolton Council’s Executive member for Development and Regeneration, said: "There is clearly a need for these fairs in the current economic climate. We’ve held similar events before and the attendance has always been excellent. There are real opportunities for those looking for work and lots of support and advice available."
Employers, training providers and partners at the fair include: Asda; Northwest Ambulance Service; Carewatch; Subway; Connexions; Shaw Trust and the University of Bolton.
