Ironman back in Bolton next year

Ironman UK has confirmed that they will be coming back to Bolton next year.

The gruelling triathlon will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015.

The news has been announced just days ahead of this weekend's tenth annual Ironman UK.

Managing Director Ironman UK and Ireland, Kevin Stewart, said: “We have seen a huge surge in athletes wanting to race Ironman this year.

"Our aim is to ensure each athlete has a highly memorable experience and we shall continue our ongoing work with the authorities to further the success of the event as the UK’s premier triathlon.”

Bolton Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Councillor John Byrne, said: “Ironman provides a tremendous boost to Bolton as well as bringing significant financial benefits to the local economy.

“We’re delighted Ironman is coming back to Bolton again next year. The event showcases our town to an international audience and raises our profile. Hosting Ironman is part of a wider council strategy to support major events.”
 
With demand for Ironman races at an all-time high across the UK and Europe, athletes looking to consider racing the event in 2015 are encouraged to pre register for free via www.ironmanuk.com which will enable them to have advanced access to places.
