The next round of improvements to St George’s Road start this Sunday (July 3).
The work is part of a £2 million road improvement scheme across Bolton to tackle the effect of the severe weather over the last two winters.
The Chorley New Road and Chorley Old Road junction on St George’s Road will be resurfaced on Sundays in July. However, resurfacing won’t take place on Sunday, July 31 due to the Ironman event.
To enable the work to take place safely Chorley Street will be closed to traffic at its junction with St George’s Road. Signed diversions will be in place. To minimise disruption Chorley Street will reopen during the week.
The first phase of the scheme, which involved resurfacing the junction of St George’s Road, Marsden Road and Topp Way, is now complete.
Residents and motorists are asked to be patient while the work is underway. Contact Bolton Council’s helpline on 01204 336677 for further information.
