Work is due to start on £200,000 improvements to a busy town centre road in Horwich.
Resurfacing will take place on Winter Hey Lane, between its junctions with Chorley New Road and Lee Lane, from Sunday, August 26 for approximately six weeks.
The work will take place during off-peak hours, on Sundays between 7am and 8pm and during weekdays between 6pm and 11.30pm. The only exception to this is Bank Holiday Monday (August 27) when work will also take place between 7am and 8pm.
Temporary traffic lights will be used when necessary and some road closures will also be in place.
Winter Hey Lane will be closed while work is taking place on August 26, August 27, September 2 and September 9.
Motorists will also not be able to enter or leave the junction of Mason Street and Chorley New Road on August 27 and September 2.
On September 16, 23 and 30, Longworth Road from its junction with Lee Lane to Beaumont Road will be closed.
The closures could cause some delays to motorists but every effort will be made to keep inconvenience to a minimum and diversions will be signposted.
